Hello my Simbyotes! Y'all know I I always do Cannes, and I did do Cannes. But also, Cannes is getting a little stale for me. Once you've done it a few times, you get the idea. Plus, now I got the sims event thing down pat, so I don't really need to rely on irl events for my sims to attend. I can come up with my own thing! And that's sort of what I did!
I took inspiration from a mod on modthesims called "It's Movie Time!". This mod allows you to add irl movies to your game, make movie theaters for your sims to buy and attend, and in the Patreon edition; your sims can attend the Sims Film Festival held every week in Magnolia Blossom.

Think of it like Cannes, but sims. I love the plumbob statue! I wanted my sims to take a cute pic with it, but the event is off-lot, so you cant drop a poseplayer down and pose them up. However, you can access the statue in build mode. Maybe if you have the TOOL mod, you can make it happen. Try it and let me know!
The festival has food and snacks, a shirt vendor, and some random sim selling random goodies. One time I got rocks, another time there was a bunch of MySim dolls. It varies. I think they borrowed this from City Living. You know the flea market? I'm sure it's taken from that, so maybe have City Living for this mod.
I adore the custom seats! Couldn't find them by themselves in build mode though.
Probably wouldn't hurt to have Get Famous too, so celebrity sims can visit (cause they do)

The movies being played at the festival are at random, unless you go into the settings and choose what movies are allowed to be played.
Also protip: Make sure you're paying attention to what movies you're downloading. Not all of them can be played at Sims Film Fest. When I first downloaded the mod, I only downloaded the movies with the smallest file size (I have this whole thing about file sizes, and I plan on covering that in another post). Those movies showed up at my sims home, but not at the festival. And I was like "Why is that?". Come to find out, some movies are not made for the festival. Which makes sense. So just pay attention to what you're downloading.
So far, I like this mod. I'll probably be using it for awhile. I have a ton of celebrity sims and also I just like movies! Maybe in another post I'll cover owning a movie theater
